Description
The little green control modules, called frogs, are the heart of every frogblue system and form the basis of frogblue's Bluetooth®-based smart building solution. Our frogs switch, dim, measure, open doors or respond to push buttons, switches and window contacts.
Connected to the mains or battery-powered, they establish "virtual cables" between each other via the frogblue Bluetooth® mesh network, relaying messages and extending their range. Data transmission between the frogs is exclusively encrypted (128-bit), in addition to Bluetooth®. Frogs are smart, bursting with innovative features, easy to configure and do not require a central processing unit or control cabinet. With a power consumption of only 0.2 watts, they are also exceptionally energy-conscious.
Installed in the deep flush-mounted box (recommended box depth: 63mm) behind any conventional switch/button, junction box, weatherproof outdoor box or lamp outlet, this multifunctional 1-channel dimming actuator can be used to switch and dim all lamps approved for phase control. Phase control is only allowed for inductive loads.
For example, with this frog and another frog as an input module, e.g. the frogIn3-AC, you can flexibly switch the dimmable light in the garden house indoors via 3 inputs (pushbuttons or switches) without any additional infrastructure. Supplied with power and connected to the corresponding lamp, a light circuit with up to 300 W can be controlled via the 1 output of the frogDim1-0.
If and how dimming is done is freely configurable. In the night gladly differently than in the day. Additional functions, such as building-wide central on/off or room-wide lighting scenarios, can be defined with the frogblue ProjectApp.
The frogs can be controlled with the frogblue HomeApp via smartphone or tablet (iOS and Android), the frogDisplay, the frogKey or simply via the conventional switch/button connected to a frog. We always recommend pushbuttons, as this way the full range of functions can be used through individual and different pushbutton patterns, such as double or triple click, etc.
